Summary of the Truly Agreed Version of the Bill

HCS SB 932 -- LAW ENFORCEMENT

Currently, a search warrant expires if it is not executed and
returned to the issuing judge within 10 days of the date of
application. This bill allows a search and subsequent seizure to
be conducted after that time subject to the continued existence
of probable cause to search if a supplemental return and receipt
is delivered upon final completion of the search.

Currently, peace officers who make traffic stops are required to
receive annual training regarding the prohibition of racial
profiling. The bill changes the training requirement to three
hours within the law enforcement continuing education three-year
reporting period.

Beginning with Fiscal Year 2010, the General Assembly is required
to appropriate $3 million annually into the newly created Cyber
Crime Investigation Fund to be used by the Department of Public
Safety to administer grants to law enforcement agencies
investigating Internet sexual crimes against children and for the
training of prosecuting and circuit attorneys and assistant
prosecuting and circuit attorneys.
